The Terrafirma Drop Plate offers flexible attachment solutions designed to work with receiver hitch systems on 4x4 vehicles. Standard tow bars typically mount low on vehicles, reducing ground clearance and creating snag points during off-road driving. While removing the tow bar isn't practical for dual-purpose vehicles, Terrafirma Receiver Hitches solve this by positioning a 'female' box section receiver high on the chassis, away from obstacles. This receiver accepts various 'male' attachments—including drop plates, recovery points, and demountable winch cradles—providing multiple configuration options. The receiver features a 2" internal bore designed to securely hold a 2" external square section attachment using a heavy-duty pin and security clip. Terrafirma Receiver hitches are manufactured for several vehicle models and come with all necessary fitting hardware and retaining pin. The drop plate incorporates three adjustable height settings, while the integrated recovery point is machined to accommodate standard bow shackles.
