Terrafirma - Drop Plate

Terrafirma - Drop Plate

The Terrafirma Drop Plate offers flexible attachment solutions designed to work with receiver hitch systems. Standard tow bars are typically positioned low on 4x4 vehicles, which limits ground clearance and increases the risk of snagging during off-road driving. The Terrafirma Receiver Hitch addresses this by mounting a female receiver box section high on the chassis, away from obstacles. This design enables multiple male attachments—including drop plates, recovery points, and winch cradles—to be swapped as needed for maximum versatility. The receiver features a 2" internal bore sized to accommodate a snug-fitting 2" external square section, secured with a heavy-duty pin and safety clip. This Terrafirma system for Defender 1998-2016 includes all necessary mounting hardware and retaining pin. The drop plate provides three height adjustment positions, while the recovery point is machined to accommodate a standard bow shackle.
