The Discovery 2 is a favorite among off-road enthusiasts for its rugged construction, live axles, and extensive customization potential. However, its modest approach angle and significant rear overhang make the front and rear ends vulnerable to damage during extreme off-roading. The Terrafirma Extreme winch bumper not only substantially improves the approach angle and reduces the risk of rear-end damage on drop-offs, but also delivers strong protection against impact damage. Two Extreme winch bumper configurations are available to fit the popular Terrafirma A12000, M12.5S, and EFS12.5 winches, as well as the TM12000 Twin Motor winch. A non-winch version is also offered as an excellent option when improved approach angle is the priority or a winch isn't needed. High approach angle bumpers can expose the windscreen washer bottle, and larger tires may contact it. Terrafirma provides a mounting kit that relocates the washer bottle into the engine compartment with minor modifications. Complementing the front bumper is the Terrafirma Extreme rear bumper, which maximizes rear clearance and protection while retaining the original bumper-mounted rear lights. Both bumpers feature heavy-duty construction with robust mounting points, recovery points, reinforced bracketry, and a durable satin black powder coat finish, engineered specifically for winching and off-road use. Some vehicle modifications are required for installation, including modifications to the grille and slam panel supports to accommodate a winch, and trimming of the rear body corners to fit the Extreme rear bumper.
