Terrafirma - Foam Air Filter

Terrafirma - Foam Air Filter

The Terrafirma Foam Air Filter for Freelander 1 is a direct replacement for the original paper element, equivalent to ESR4103. Manufactured by Pipercross, leaders in foam filter technology and trusted by world-class engine builders, this fully serviceable filter delivers 30% increased airflow without raising induction noise levels. Unlike standard paper or cotton filters that lose efficiency as dirt accumulates, the advanced deep foam construction allows air to flow freely around trapped particles, maintaining consistent performance. MIRA testing confirms that Pipercross foam captures more than twice the dust of conventional filters while preserving airflow. The specially developed polyurethane foam features three layers that progressively filter from coarse to fine, with outer layers trapping initial particles and the inner layer providing superior filtration and engine protection. When saturated with dirt, the filter is easily restored by cleaning with solution and re-oiling, offering a lifetime of use. The high-performance foam construction provides superior durability and longevity compared to paper alternatives. For vehicles demanding exceptional engine performance and maximum intake flow, the Pipercross PLUS Panel option is available. Its innovative 2-layer design with stainless steel frame—combining a 5mm 60PPI layer and a 20mm 20PPI layer—delivers 22.1% greater airflow than the standard panel while offering enhanced dirt retention capability.
