Space constraints on standard axles prevent simply enlarging CV joints, so Terrafirma has instead focused on advanced material composition and specialized heat treatment. These components are manufactured from SAE4340 steel alloy, featuring a high nickel-chromoly-molybdenum content that provides exceptional strength and reliability. A 3-stage heat treatment process imparts the properties necessary to withstand rigorous off-road use while reducing strain throughout the entire drivetrain, including differentials and transfer boxes. The result is a CV joint with superior toughness and shock load resistance, specifically designed to work seamlessly with heavy-duty shafts. The joint features a 30mm centre with 23 splines for optimal performance characteristics.
