Terrafirma Heavy Duty Half Shaft Set - 24 Spline - Rear This set includes 681.5mm and 949mm pair shafts for Defender 90 (1994 onwards) and Defender 110/130 (2002 onwards). Upgraded tires, increased horsepower, and differential locks place additional strain on standard driveline components. Heavy duty half shafts and CV joints are essential upgrades for demanding off-road use. Since axle space is limited, improving durability requires enhanced material specifications and advanced heat treatment. These shafts and joints are manufactured from SAE4340 alloy steel containing high nickel-chromoly-molybdenum content. A 3-stage heat treatment process provides both superior strength and elasticity, resulting in reduced wear on differentials and transfer boxes. The CV joints, also machined from SAE4340 chromoly material, deliver increased toughness and shock load resistance. Raptor CV joints feature a 30mm centre with 23 splines and must be paired with compatible heavy-duty shafts. Terrafirma half shafts and CV joints serve as direct replacements for original equipment, allowing selective or complete driveline upgrades. All heavy-duty shafts are compatible with 24 spline differentials. CV joints are supplied with grease included. Coverage includes a 5-year limited warranty (subject to authorisation) with a maximum tire diameter rating of 35 inches.
