Installing a Terrafirma electronic locking differential gives you the extra traction needed to conquer challenging off-road terrain and slippery surfaces. When activated, the switch sends power to an electromagnet that engages a locking mechanism inside the differential. Once deactivated, return springs automatically disengage the mechanism, allowing the E Locker to function as a standard open differential. The Terrafirma E Locker delivers immediate traction by distributing power evenly to both wheels. With E Lockers installed on both axles, your 4x4 operates with greater precision and control, minimizing potential damage to your vehicle and surroundings. The Terrafirma E Locker features the most straightforward control system available in switchable diff locks—no air compressor, complex wiring harnesses, or air lines needed. Just 2 wires and a simple illuminated dash-mounted switch for complete operation. This streamlined design also makes installation faster and easier than other switchable diff locks; no cutting or welding required. Only a single drilled hole for the electrical cable gland is necessary. Professional installation typically takes just a few hours from beginning to end. NB. The Terrafirma E Locker fits 1983-1994 Defender 90s, 1989-1994 Discovery 1s & 1971-1994 Range Rover Classics and requires 24 spline half shafts to be installed.
